‘Blickling Buzzards’ New woodblock print, hand carved and printed during my week long artist residency at the Norwich Printing Museum, in it’s temporary home on the grounds of Blickling Hall, Norfolk.

This is my first new woodcut print for over a year. With words from Tolkien’s wedding poem for his wife carved into the border, and featuring a pair of Buzzards who mate for life, the print celebrates love, safety, freedom and is both representative of both my own new studio ‘The Eyrie’ and a nod to my time at the Printing Museum where I was able to use, for the first time, a magnificent golden eagle-topped 1845 Colombian printing press, to print this full edition.

Printed on Fabriano Unica Crema paper, each print is checked, signed and numbered by myself. Prints will arrive rolled in tissue paper in sturdy cardboard tubes. 50% of the profit from each print will go directly to the Norwich Printing Museum registered charity number 1186762.

The Norwich Printing Museum, formerly the John Jarrold Print Museum, is one of the largest collections of printing machinery and equipment in the country. Sadly in the museum’s temporary home at Blickling, only around 15% of the full collection is on display and functional. The museum is looking to relocate back to Norwich City Centre by Spring 2026, where the full collection will be able to be displayed and used to its full potential, this will include demonstrations, commissions, courses and workshops. Any support you are able to offer to keep this valuable historic resource accessible to the public, is greatly appreciated!
